Darryl Stephens tied the rainbow trout record at Lake Burton. His fish weighed in at 5 lbs. 8 oz. He was fishing at Lake Burton with his wife on July 12 when he reeled in a 5-lb., 8-oz. rainbow trout, which creates a first-place tie for biggest rainbow ever recorded from this north Georgia reservoir. The other record trout from Burton was caught on July 24, 2016.

Seven-year-old Camden Rinckey caught his 11-lb., 14-oz. brown trout is now the largest brown ever recorded from Lake Burton. Camden. He was up before the crack of dawn with his father, Joel Rinckey, on the morning of May 26, 2018. Most kids his age dread getting up early, but Camden has no problem at all, especially with fishing involved.

Lake Burton trout fishing  is shining like new money.
