Saturday, August 26th between 1:00 and 7:00 p.m., Western North Carolina’s French Broad River will be the site of the wildly popular RiverFest Anything That Floats Parade. The Float put-in is at Asheville’s Craven St. and a pit stop is at Salvage Station. If you like good music, crazy floats and helping the watershed, then this is the event for you. Right Band, Ben Phan and the Soul Symphony, and The Greenliners will at Riverfest ‘picking and grinning. It is quite a spectacle to see an armada of beautiful “anything that floats” progressing down the French Broad River. It’s an aquatic, hillbilly version of Madi Gras, but less structured.
