The 6th Annual Casting for Hope, one of only two world-championship model competitions in the United States, has recruited many of the best anglers from all over the country to congregate in Bakersville, North Carolina at the Casting for Hope Retreat Center. This event is set for April 7-9, 2017. The tournament is base-camped at the Casting for Hope Retreat Center, which features two miles of private trophy water on Little and Big Rock Creek in Mitchell County, North Carolina. The 5-venue tournament also features Cane Creek in Bakersville and the Upper and Lower North Toe River in Spruce Pine.
While our 40-person registration has already filled up, we still are in need of many volunteers! From stream monitoring and measuring competitors' fish, to helping us with registration and preparing meals, you will find a space to serve! We have five different volunteering time slots through the weekend, so we’d love to see you on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or all three days!
This flagship event is how we got our start at Casting for Hope, and everyone involved looks at this as a nice weekend of service with great company. To learn more about volunteering, contact John or Taylor or click on this linkto register today. More information about the tournament can be found here.
We started last week going to work to secure discounted lodging for the many volunteers and fishermen. Bear Den campground is offering 25% off to all patrons who mention the name Casting for Hope in their booking for the weekend of the tournament. More will be forthcoming. And as always, if camping is your thing, the Casting for Hope Retreat Center grounds are wide open for you to pitch a tent and gather around campfires!
