Smoky Mountain TU Chapter president, John Reinhardt invites fellow TU members and fly fishing to the Smoky Mountain Grand Slam Fundraising Banquet and Tournament. The Banquet at The Foundry on the Fair Site in Knoxville on Friday, Sept. 2, and to the Tournament will be held on the Clinch River below Norris Dam on Saturday, Sept. 3. The Foundry On The Fair Site - 747 Worlds Fair Park Drive - Knoxville TN 37902.
“Our Smoky Mountains TU Chapter partnered with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing to create the Knoxville PHWFF Program,” says Reinhardt. “In the past for the event many of area fly fishermen have guided veterans at our local outings and helped with fly tying and rod building classes. You understand the value for veterans to wade or drift a stream—no thoughts of medical issues and problems, just focusing on fooling a trout with flies they tied and rods they built.”
