leah kirk

One of the most popular trout fishing destinations in the South, the Qualla Reservation of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians now as a two miles stretch of of the Raven Fork is now open to FLY FISHING ONLY, CATCH AND RELEASE angling. Raven Fork is a beautiful, crystal clear western North Carolina river which flows out of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park into the reservation before joining the larger Oconulaftee River.

This section of Raven Fork has an incredible number of rainbow and brown trout in the 20+ inches category. Anglers must possess a valid Cherokee Indian Reservation Enterprise Waters Fishing Permit ($7.00) and the additional Special Use Permit ($20.00 annually) associated with Cherokee Trophy Trout, Catch and Release Waters.
