Great Smoky Mountains National Park officials announced the temporary closure of the Abrams Creek entrance road due to damage caused by an uprooted tree. About 20 feet of the Abrams Creek entrance road is washed out, according to a news release from the park. Maintenance crews plan to repair the roadway by Wednesday. Trails remain open, but there is no trailhead access from the Abrams Creek area. The spring opening for the Abrams Creek campground is May 27.
