The Fayetteville program of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing will be hosting its 3rd annual Marabou Madness Fly Tying event on Saturday, March 19, 9:00am- 7:00pm at the Pechmann Fishing Education Center located at 7489 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC. Marabou Madness is a special day of fly-tying and fly-fishing instruction for participants of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing. This year, legendary fly-fisher, Jack Dennis will join the event to provide fly-tying instruction to the participants. Jack opened his first fly-fishing business at age 19 in Jackson, Wyoming and became so renowned for his angling skills that his client list grew to include sports figures, movies stars and key political figures. Jack has appeared in numerous TV shows, produced DVDs, and written two of the best known fly-fishing books in the world; Western Trout Fly Tying Manual, Volumes I and II have over 300,000 copies.

In addition to the tying instruction, participants will also take part in a tying contest, drawings, raffle, and try their hand at fishing in the center’s stocked ponds.  Participants will be provided with lunch From Jersey Mike and a catered dinner from Mission BBQ with an awards ceremony taking place after dinner. The tying event is for active participants of PHWFF. However, a limited number of tickets have been made available for supporters of PHWFF who wish to take part in the tying instruction. These tickets are available with a donation of $50. All proceeds from this event go to support fly-fishing and fly-tying activities for the participants of the Fayetteville PHWFF program.

These programs are only possible through the generous donations of our great sponsors and supporters that include; Jersey Mike’s, Mission BBQ, Pepsi Ventures, Southern Outdoorsman, Methodist University, and the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.  Anyone who would also like to sponsor or support this unique event for our disabled veterans and injured service members can contact Tom Carpenter at 910-494-2757 or tcarpenter65@gmail.com.
