Texas is the perfect example of the popularity of trout fishing and how to meet the demands of the growing legions of trout anglers. This winter the Lone Star State will stock over 300,000 rainbow trout at scores of locations throughout Texas.
The network of Neighborhood Fishin' ponds will be stocked frequently throughout the season. Anglers fishing in a Community Fishing Lake (CFL) or from a dock, pier or jetty within a Texas State Park may use no more than two poles. Special limits are in effect on parts of the Guadalupe River. Trout anglers will need the $5 Freshwater Fishing Stamp, which is included in all freshwater license packages. Anglers under 17 years of age are not required to have a license and don't need to purchase a stamp. More about fishing licenses and stamps.
