PHWFF Veteran’s Day Salute

leah kirk

On the invite of AT&T, on Veteran’s Day the Fayetteville program set-up informational booths at 2 of Fayetteville’s AT&T retail locations notes Yom Carpenter, PHWFF-Fayetteville Team Leaders.

Volunteers spent the day distributing brochures and talking with soldiers, veterans, and the public about how program serves disabled veterans and injured service members in the Fayetteville/ Fort Bragg area. Additionally, the program launched its annual fundraising drive by beginning sales of tickets for the raffling of a Jackson Cuda 12 Fishing Kayak and three Yeti Coolers. Tickets are $1 each for Kayak.  Tickets for the cooler are also $1 ea, however there are 3 chances to win as they will draw for the coolers individually. PHWFF would like to thank AT&T’s Skibo Superstars for their support of the Fayetteville PHWFF program and our nation’s veterans.

The many veterans of the Fayetteville PHWFF program remember all too well, the loneliness that the separation from family and loved ones brings during long deployments, particularly during the holidays. We also remember how small things such as packages from home can brighten our days by reconnecting the soldier to home for just a little. Therefore, the Fayetteville program has decided to help our friends at Warriors on the Water and Powers Swain Chevrolet collect shoe boxes for their Adopt A Soldier program.

`               Below is a list of supplies that meet the needs of our soldiers, but please don't stop there!  Use your own imagination.  You can go to the dollar store and purchase your plastic shoe boxes and get goodies there as well to fill up your boxes.
